Madigan Army Medical Center
Based on an assessment of existing facility signage, planners generated a recommendations report complete with budget and phasing options, leading to a new and improved sign program for this 1.2 million-square-foot hospital.
To create a cohesive navigation system for this large facility, planners designated two buildings based on architectural flow. These buildings were then color-coded to complement the existing color palette throughout the hospital. Signs were placed at building transition points to create seamless orientation.
Interior and exterior solutions drew upon the use of compass points to identify parking areas, entrances, and corridors. Interior signs utilized paper inserts and large-format printed posters to allow for easy in-house updates.
